Utility Sauna in Kings Valley

The smallest sauna I've built, and one of the most personal — this one was for a close friend.

The 4'x6' hot room was built right into a covered porch just outside the master bedroom, so a sauna session is a few steps from bed. The whole goal was to make it look like it went up with the house, not like it was added later. Matching the lines and finishes did exactly that.

A full-length tempered glass front opens the small space up and keeps it from feeling tight, with a water-jet cutout in the glass handling intake ventilation cleanly. The interior is premium tight-knot cedar with clear cedar benches, an 8kW Harvia KIP with WiFi controls, and hidden under-bench accent lighting for a soft glow.

Proof that a small footprint, done right, still delivers a real sauna.
